Locate these points on yourself. You will know you found the spot when you feel a tender sensation upon pressure of the point.
HT 1 – Ji Quan (極泉) – supreme spring
Locate this point near center of axilla on the anterior side of the axillary artery. Feel the pulse then drop directly over the anterior border of the artery, directly deep to the inferior free edge of the pectoralis major muscle attachment to the humerus.
HT 2 – Qing ling (青靈) – youthful spirit
With elbow flexed, locate this point 3 cun superior to the medial end of the transverse cubital crease in the groove medial to the biceps brachii. Found right on the medial border of the humerus between the biceps and triceps brachii.
HT 3 – Shao hai (少海) – Lesser sea
With elbow flexed, locate this point at the medial end of the transverse cubital crease. Directly anterior to the medial epicondyle of the humerus.
HT 4 – Ling Dao (靈道) – spirit path
With the palm facing up, locate this point 1.5 cun superior to the transverse crease of the wrist at HT7. Directly on lateral border of ulna.
HT 5 – Tong Li (通裏) – penetrating interior
Locate this point 1 cun above HT7 on a line connecting HT3 and HT7. On lateral border of ulna.
HT 6 – Yin Xi (陰郄) – Yin Cleft
Locate this point 0.5 cun above HT7 on a line connecting HT3 and HT7.
HT 7 – shen men (神門) – spirit gate
Locate this point on the ulnar end of the transverse crease of the wrist, in the small depression between the pisiform and ulna. May be found slightly more distal, directly lateral to pisiform.
HT 8 – Shao Fu (少府) – lesser palace
With a fist made, locate this point where the little finger falls between the 4th and 5th metacarpal bones.
HT 9 – Shao chong (少衝) – lesser surge
Locate this point 0.1 cun posterior to the corner of the nail on the radial side of the little finger.
